Sustainability

Arque is a brand committed to sustainability at every stage of its production process. All of our footwear is produced in small-scale workshops that share our values of responsibility and environmental stewardship.

We work with three small factories located in the South and Southeast of Brazil , all aligned with our values of ethical production and sustainability.

We produce part of our collection at the Dikson factory in Rio de Janeiro , where we have a dedicated team of 12 employees. The factory is ABVTEX certified , ensuring compliance with strict social and environmental standards. We also partner with the Rafaet workshop in Franca, São Paulo , a facility specializing in small-batch production with a team of 38 employees . Rafaet follows strict sustainability protocols, including:

  • Leather waste treatment

  • Dispose of materials according to ABVTEX standards , which are more demanding than regular government regulations

  • Use of solar energy for energy production

  • Purchase leather and wood only from certified sustainable suppliers

  • Working with tanneries that guarantee the non-use of illegally or irregularly deforested areas

We also collaborate with Atelier Mirela , which reinforces our commitment to responsible production. There, waste is carefully separated, with selective collection systems for recyclable materials, as well as chemical and toxic waste. Because we use petroleum-based glue and solvents in our shoe cabinets—substances considered harmful to the environment—we actively seek partners like Mirela, who ensure proper disposal through selective collection systems and environmentally friendly practices.

We use soles made from recycled leather —a sustainable material created from leather scraps—and carefully plan our production to avoid excess, ensuring nothing goes to waste.

We believe that true quality lies in the longevity of our products, not in the pressure of seasonal trends. That's why our footwear is designed to be timeless, free from the discount cycles typical of the fashion industry. Our pricing model reflects this philosophy: we strive for a fair and transparent structure where prices cover manufacturing and operating costs without excessive margins, allowing our products to remain affordable and sustainable in the long term.
